Germination is the development of a plant embryo inside the seed. At maturity, the seed is detached from the mother plant in order to be disseminated in the wild. It then begins a dormant period whose duration depends on available space and on conditions of temperature , humidity and oxygen in its environment.
The different stages in the germination of bean seed are described in this animation under different environmental conditions.
