Measuring Time

Learning objectives

  • To know how to measure time.
  • To know how to identify natural events or phenomena and associate them with a time-measuring instrument.

This game allows to classify and compare the main units of time. The shortest times are placed to the left, the longest to the right.

The gray label indicates the (approximate) relationship between two units of time:

  • 1 hour = 3600 seconds
  • 1 month = 30 days (specify that some months have 28, 29 or 31 days)
  • 1 year = 365 days (specify that leap years have 366 days)
  • 1 millennium = 10 centuries or 1,000 years
  • etc.

After classifying all the units proposed, the game continues with labels representing time measuring instruments or characteristic images of a unit of time. These labels are placed under the corresponding units, knowing that a unit can have several labels and that a label can be placed under several units.
