Learning objectives

To observe and produce regularities with patterns.

Two artistic paintings are presented here to explore the art of paving. The suggested activities allow for a step-by-step analysis that results in an accurate representation of paving.

Observe and recognize the patterns in the paving.

Understand how the paving is built. Identify patterns and match them.
Build the paving by recognizing the geometric transformation and applying it to the reference pattern.
Select a board by clicking the arrows. Click the board button to view the complete paving.

There are three ways to reproduce a board:

Coloring: Select a paint pot. Click on the shape to color it.
Placing: Select and place a shape from the suggested options.
Build: Place and transform the reference shape.
